About us
All Saints Church, Swinderby is the parish church for our village and serves all members of the community.
We are part of the 'Swinderby Group' of churches, sharing resources with the churches in Eagle, North Scarle and Thorpe-on-the-Hill. We also have a close partnership with the three churches of the Hykeham Group.
We are part of the the Deanery of Graffoe, within the Diocese of Lincoln.
All Saints Church has been serving the people of Swinderby for over 1000 years. It has been a focus of celebrations in good times, and a refuge, a place for mourning and reflection in sad times, and a place for encouragement, counsel and help always.
The earliest parts of the building which still can be seen, including the tower, date from the 12th century, but the building has been altered in almost every century since, to adapt it for the needs of the people of that day. Today, more changes are planned, to make it useful for the 21st century, without losing its unique ancient character. The building, like the village and its people, adapt to every new century.
